Overview

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology (JUET), Guna, was established in 2003 to meet the evolving demands of the 21st century, where traditional boundaries between science and engineering are increasingly overlapping. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing exceptional education, fostering research, and achieving academic excellence. It offers a dynamic and stimulating learning environment where students thrive and excel.

With the globalization of the Indian economy, the computer software and hardware industries have experienced unprecedented growth. Software, in particular, remains one of the fastest-growing sectors, and the Department of CSE continues to produce highly skilled software engineers equipped with cutting-edge technical expertise. PROGRAM : B.TECH. (Computer Science and Engineering)

PEO-1: To provide core theoretical knowledge and practical exposure in the area of Computer Science & Engineering to help students excel in their professional career, pursuit of higher studies, or their entrepreneurial endeavours.

PEO-2: To enable the students to use existing knowledge and create the new knowledge using multiple disciplines in solving real-life problems.

PEO-3: To develop the professional attitude and ethical competencies, so that the students would be able to face the work-life and personal challenges with utmost grace, and make positive impact on the environment and society.

PO-1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO-2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO-3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO-4: Conduct investigations of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO-5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO-6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO-7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Research & Publication

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University has a well-structured system for promoting and monitoring research within the department. A dedicated research committee, known as the Departmental Progress Monitoring Committee (DPMC), is formed for each research scholar, with clearly defined roles to provide guidance and ensure regular monitoring of the scholar’s progress. All Ph.D. scholars in the CSE department are required to adhere to UGC norms regarding research publications. The department strictly follows the University's policy on preventing malpractices and plagiarism in research, in line with UGC guidelines. Additionally, the department upholds a well-defined Code of Ethics for research, ensuring its effective implementation through various means. These include a mandatory credit course on Research Publication Ethics, which all Ph.D. scholars must successfully complete, and regular oversight by the institution to maintain research integrity.
